Angels – GRAMMY® Stars Can Be Kind and Keep Warm This Year Thanks to PETA: Hosts and Performers at the Biggest Night of Music®will receive a high-tech jacket without a down jacket from PETA Business Friend Save the duck as well as a custom PETA dog leash that reminds people to always adopt and never buy a pet.
“While tired old companies continue to sell cruel jackets made from forcibly killed birds, Save the Duck drops the microphone in its eco-friendly featherless outerwear,” says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “The PETA Gift Set will allow some of the world’s biggest music stars to express a touch of compassion for animals and the planet while staying on trend.”
Each year, millions of delicate birds are exploited and killed in the down industry, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and depleting natural resources. PETA notes that it takes about 500 gallons of water per pound to raise a single duck, and that the harsh chemicals used to clean their feathers often end up in groundwater, streams and rivers.
PETA – whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. More information on the down industry is available here. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
