Oklahoma city – For Valentine’s Day, PETA scoured the country for Best Vegan Sweets– and local bakery Quincy Bake Shop ranked on the list for their mini but decadent chocolate-coated Bundt cake.
A rich coffee and chocolate flavored cake covered in dark chocolate icing, ideal for one or two people. Quincy Bakery also offers daily gluten-free vegan buns made with seasonal fruits and covered with lemon icing. The dessert shop at Bradford House is open daily.
“This award-winning Bundt cake makes it easy to showcase be in love to chickens and cows this Valentine’s Day, ”says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “All PETA bakeries promise less heartbreak by offering these pet friendly and cholesterol-free goodies. “
Vegan sweets are sweeter for animals: in the dairy industry, calves are torn from their mothers shortly after birth, and in the egg industry, chickens’ beaks are cut off with a hot blade when they are only a few days old. … Every person who goes vegan also lowers the risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer; dramatically reduces the carbon footprint; and helps prevent future outbreaks of disease – SARS, swine flu, avian influenza and COVID-19 – caused by restricting and killing animals for food.
Other winners on PETA’s list include Dulce Vegan Bakery & Cafe in Atlanta; Littlest Bake Shop in Kansas City, Missouri; and sea salt and cinnamon in Muncie, Indiana. Every diner will get a frame certificate from PETA, which offers free vegan dessert recipes for Valentine’s Day on its website along with a selection of sweet gifts from PETA store…
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
