Beverly Hills, California. – Dressed in bodysuits to look like “skinned snakes” and bleeding to death, protesters will hang under a poster that reads “Cruelty to bags: let the snakes live!” Tomorrow at the Louis Vuitton store.
When: Tuesday 9 March 12:00
Where: Louis Vuitton, 295 N. Rodeo Dr., Beverly Hills
Recently released MAP Asia investigation at a snake skin supplier shows workers sealing snake mouths and anuses with rubber bands and then inflating them to death with an air compressor, crushing their hearts and inflicting intense pain, sparking a protest. Some of them were still moving during the deadly inflation, indicating that snakes may still be alive when workers rip their skin off and gut them.
“Kites explode like balloons and even skin them alive for snakeskin shoes and python wallets,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. PETA urges good buyers to stay away from Louis Vuitton’s murderous gaze until they agree bag exotic skins “.
Due to the brutality inherent in the exotic leather trade, more and more brands are ditching exotic leather, including Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Victoria Beckham, Jil Sander, Vivienne Westwood, Brooks Brothers and Nordstrom.
