Green Bay, Wisconsin. – PETA has just placed a billboard next to I-41 near the intersection with Highway 29, which reads: “See Human. Become a vegan, ”Monument to 12 cows who died and / or were shot after their truck capsized on the ring road in April.
“Cows are gentle giants who have thoughts and feelings like everyone else,” says PETA campaign director Daniel Katz. “If a PETA billboard convinces at least one person to stop eating animals, we will do something good.”
Cows in the meat industry are often kept in cramped and muddy feedlots with no weather protection. In the slaughterhouse, workers shoot them in the head with a pistol with captive bolts, hang them by one leg, and slit their throats – often while they are still conscious.
There have been at least 26 accidents this year involving trucks transporting animals for food, including two accidents on April 19 in Green Bay, and last year there were at least 89. Every person who goes vegan saves about 200 cows, pigs, chickens and other animals every year. as well as May Help Prevent Future Pandemics: Keeping and killing animals for food has been linked to SARS, swine flu, avian influenza and COVID-19, and slaughterhouse workers faced high infection rates during the current pandemic.
A PETA billboard is located at 2155 Hutson Rd., 1.4 miles from the crash site.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat or otherwise abuse” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
