York County, Pennsylvania. – PETA Kids’ Hero to Animals award, PETA’s youth division, is approaching 5 years Draven Shipper after asking friends and family to send him food, treats, supplies and toys for animal shelters in lieu of birthday gifts – collecting dozens of items for dogs and cats in need.
“Draven’s heart is so big that he was willing to use his birthday to help shelters and comfort stray animals,” says Martha Holmberg, senior director of PETA’s youth programs. “PETA Kids recognizes his efforts with dogs and cats and hopes that he will inspire others to take action.”
PETA Kids, whose motto, among other things, is that “animals are not in our hands to abuse them”, indicates that about 70 million dogs and cats in the United States are left homeless at any given time. The group encourages families to adopt animals from shelters instead of buying animals from breeders or pet stores, and follow Draven’s example by treating four-legged family members with toys, good food, exercise, and affection.
PETA Kids is opposed to arrogance, a human superiority-oriented worldview. For more information please visit PETAKids.com or subscribe to the group on Facebook or Instagram…
